Al Letson performs his poem “Second Planet From A Star” from Paul Devlin’s SlamNation.
Slam Poetry melds the art of writing and the art of performance in the context of a good old fashion brawl. SlamNation is the seminal film of this literary movement.
A teenage Dan Snyder (keyboards) and Jim Wood (vocals) banged out this 3-minute masterpiece in the living room of Dan’s childhood home on an upright piano at which Dan had recently labored during his agonizing bout with childhood piano lessons. Wood’s poison pen recounts a tale of drunken romance and all the angst that goes with it in this early example of frenetic Loaded Poets’ product.
Performed with nostalgic pride and renewed energy at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, New York, where Loaded Poets celebrated the digital release of their feature film The Front Man.
